Contemporary Issues
This section represents the most important components of my 2012-2013 humanities work. During this school year we had two extensive projects, the Revolution Project and the Africa Project.
For the first semester we explored the French revolution, how it began and it's out comes. Later we compared the French revolution to other revolutions that had occurred throughout history; I studied the Russian revolution in my group. We created a news script together, and had it filmed and displayed at a celebration of learning event at our school. The highlights of our work can be viewed on the Revolution Project page.
During the second semester, our study was much broader, as we undertook the challenge of understanding an incredibly misunderstood continent. This semester included extensive reading, research and critical thought. I chose to study the country Botswana, and then the Khoisan, a combination of two ancient cultures whose traditions still live today in the heart of the Kalahari desert. The work I've done during the second semester is readily available on the Africa Project page.
