Senior X
This class is a self reflective English course that gives seniors, such as myself, the opportunity to explore our individual passions. We are reflecting on who we are and what our place is in the world. We often reflect our thoughts and ideas on blogs, the link to mine is listed below. We also have been studying the accomplishments of figureheads who have made great accomplishments in the fields we are interested in.
In the first semester, we developed plans for projects that we could work on for the duration of the year. For my own part, I decided I wanted to create a webcomic in which I could explore concepts I feel are represented in my life but not in media, or that are represented inaccurately by media. To further inspire our ambitions and curiosity, we researched people who have excelled in areas we might want to pursue in our adult lives. Then we went deeper and looked into our community to find inspiring people and we interviewed them, curious to find out what motivated them. Then we held an event called the DRIVE event that highlighted the work each student had done with photo essays, digital stories, and live interviews. My work for the DRIVE event is linked below.
